Michigan State guard named Andy Katz’s player of the week

by

Michigan State basketball is back in the driver’s seat for the Big Ten title after vanquishing their top rival, Michigan, this weekend, on the road in Ann Arbor, nonetheless. It was a massive win in a game the Spartans were considered underdogs in, and completely changed the vibes around the program after a few uneven weeks of conference play.

The Spartans were led in that game by their star freshman, Jase Richardson, who dropped 21 points against the Wolverines. For his efforts, Richardson was named the Player of the Week by college basketball analyst Andy Katz.

Richardson didn’t just lead the team in scoring, he also had six rebounds, a remarkable feat for a 6-foot-3 guard against a very large Michigan squad. He also added three steals as his defense continues to improve rapidly.

While Jase Richardson did receive the honor for player of the week, Andy Katz gave BYU honors for his team of the week.
