Ange Postecoglou has acknowledged that he understood the anger and dissatisfaction from Nottingham Forest supporters after their 3-2 Europa League loss to Midtjylland. Since taking over from Nuno Espirito Santo just weeks ago, Postecoglou has failed to win any of his first six games — the first permanent Forest manager in a century to begin with that run.

Speaking after the match at the City Ground, he said fans are entitled to their opinions and made it clear that nothing in football quite surprises him anymore. He pointed out that the mood among the fans being negative is something he understands, given the results, but also insisted that the responsibility lies with him to deliver wins and instil progress in the squad.

Forest had home hopes in Europe rekindled ahead of the match, but sloppy goals in the first half and missed opportunities, coupled with the late third from Midtjylland, led to frustration on all sides. Despite this, Postecoglou remains confident the team is moving in the right direction. He said that while fans may not yet see results, he believes the process is underway, and that turning the corner is possible.

Forest are 17th in the Premier League after six games, with just five points to show, and pressure is building ahead of a tough run of fixtures including Newcastle United, Chelsea, and Bournemouth.
