Stephen Curry delivered a season-best 49‐point performance — capped off by two clutch free throws with 6.4 seconds remaining — to propel the Golden State Warriors past the San Antonio Spurs 109-108 in a dramatic in-season NBA Cup Group C encounter.

Trailing by 10 early in the fourth quarter, the Warriors mounted a comeback driven by Curry, Gary Payton II and Brandin Podziemski. With 3:37 left, Golden State grabbed the lead at 101-100.

The Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama responded with a highlight-tip-in to make it 108-105 with 1:06 remaining. But after a colossal block from Wembanyama and a missed game-winner from De’Aaron Fox at the buzzer, Stephen calmly sank both free throws to seal the win.

Wembanyama finished with 26 points and 12 rebounds, while Fox posted 24 points and 10 assists for the Spurs. For the Warriors, besides Curry’s 49, Jimmy Butler added 21 points, Payton and Podziemski contributed 10 each.

With the victory, Golden State improved to 1-1 in its NBA Cup group and extended a three-win stretch in its last four games.

This outing underscores Curry’s enduring greatness — even at age 37, he remains a primary closer in high-leverage games. The Warriors’ composure under pressure, especially down the stretch, offers a positive signal for their trajectory this season.
