Russell Westbrook on passing to Nikola Jokic: “I don’t care if I turn the ball over 20 times”
by Osmond OMOLUby Osmond OMOLURussell Westbrook At all costs, Russell Westbrook is determined to make Nikola Jokic the center of the Denver Nuggets’ offense. The 36-year-old point guard highlighted his desire to go above and beyond to send the ball to the reigning MVP during the Nuggets’ 116-110 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday. According to Bennet Durando of the Denver Post, Westbrook declared, “Nikola Jokic is the best player on the court, in the world,” demonstrating his unwavering focus on delivering the ball to Jokic. Therefore, I will try to pass the ball to him 20 times. He went on, “I do not really care.” Following a fierce victory in which Denver defeated a formidable Sacramento challenge, Westbrook made his remarks. The Kings’ defense regularly gave way to Jokic despite his dominance, packing the paint with defenders. Westbrook is steadfast in his resolve to include Jokic as much is can, though. “I would attempt to do that as well if I were on the opposing squad. As he reflected on the difficulty of feeding the ball to a player who frequently attracts double or triple teams, Westbrook said, “As supporting cast, it is our job to make sure we help make the game easier for him.” Jokic, a…

LUKA DONCIC Since joining the Los Angeles Lakers, Luka Doncic has made it obvious that winning the title is his top priority. The AllStar guard strengthened his hopes of winning a title Thursday after defeating the New York Knicks 113-109 in overtime. “Obviously, winning the championship is the aim. In a post-game interview, Doncic stated, “There are no other goals than that.” Doncic discussed what he believes makes the difference in pivotal situations when questioned about the Lakers’ strategy for comebacks. Being more physical is the first step. In the fourth quarter, we were physical, got stops, and were just playing our basketball offensively. In the first half, I believe we were just a little careless,” he added. The Lakers had to overcome a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter, but they won 19–6 thanks to Doncic, James’ free throws, and Gabe Vincent’s game-winning three-pointer. Jalen Brunson gave New York a valiant performance, scoring 39 points and dishing out 10 assists, but the Knicks were unable to win the game, especially after Brunson injured his right ankle during overtime. Doncic also discussed the team’s chemistry. Since joining the Lakers, he has been averaging 23.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 8.1 assists. The chemistry alone—I believe that everyone gets along—is what matters most. We have a good connection.…
