Dabo Swinney shares a team injury update as spring practice begins

by

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney met with the media on Friday afternoon before the Tigers officially began spring practice, providing injury updates on several key players who will be sidelined.

Defensive tackle Stephiylan Green, a redshirt sophomore, is recovering from sports hernia surgery and will miss the spring as he continues his rehab. “He’s doing great and working his way back,” Swinney said.

Senior cornerback Jeadyn Lukus and sixth-year offensive lineman Walker Parks both underwent shoulder cleanup procedures and will also be out. “Jeadyn Lukus, we cleaned his shoulder up. Some of these guys were just postseason things that we knew we were going to have to do all season,” Swinney explained. “Walker Parks, same thing – we had to do a cleanup on his shoulder.”

While Clemson will be missing some players for spring practice, anticipation is high for the 2025 season. The Tigers closed last year strong and return a roster capable of making a serious run at the College Football Playoff. Quarterback Cade Klubnik is back for another season, and Clemson’s defense—led by standouts like T.J. Parker and Peter Woods—has the potential to be among the nation’s best.

With a mix of veteran leadership and emerging talent, the Tigers enter the spring with championship aspirations, looking to build momentum toward what could be a massive year for the program.
