Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović has been ruled out for an extended period after sustaining a severe thigh injury. The 25-year-old was forced off just 30 minutes into Juventus’s 2-1 win over Cagliari over the weekend.
Medical examinations conducted at Juventus’s J-Medical centre revealed a high-grade injury to the muscle-tendon junction of the left adductor longus. In light of the severity, the club expects Vlahović to be sidelined for at least the next three months.
This is a major blow to Juventus. Vlahović has been their lead striker this season, contributing goals and assists and playing a key role in their recent run of form. With him out, manager Luciano Spalletti now faces the challenge of reconfiguring the attack — alternatives such as Jonathan David or Loïs Openda are likely to see more minutes while the club navigates a tricky period.
The injury comes at a critical moment: Juventus are chasing European qualification and also have a Coppa Italia tie on the horizon. Their attack will need reshaping — and quickly.
