Ohio State junior Krista Marlin took the second seed in 1:51.29 just ahead of defending champion Phoebe Bacon, who got to the wall in 1:51.54, about two seconds off her entry time.

Ohio State senior Paige Hall grabbed the fourth seed in 1:52.25, followed by another Badger, Margaret Wanezek (1:53.10).
