AMES – The Iowa State women’s basketball team remains on the bubble of ESPN bracketologist Charlie Creme’s latest NCAA Tournament projections.
But the Cyclones have gained some important momentum after knocking off No. 16 Kansas State to close out the regular season.
Creme now has Iowa State among the last four teams to receive byes in his projections posted Monday morning. The Cyclones had previously been in his last four in.
Iowa State was able to enhance its postseason chances over the weekend by picking up its first signature win of the season, an upset over Kansas State.
The Cyclones still have time to improve their resume. Iowa State plays either 10-seed Cincinnati or 15-seed Arizona State in the first round of the Big 12 Conference Tournament on Thursday night in Kansas City, Mo. If the 7-seed Cyclones win that game, they would face 2-seed Baylor on Friday.
