Juventus sack coach Tudor after eight-match winless run

In a decisive move, Juventus FC announced on Monday that they had relieved head coach Igor Tudor of his duties, following a run of eight consecutive games without a win across all competitions.

Tudor, who took over from Thiago Motta in March 2025, had earlier helped steer the club to a fourth-place finish in Serie A and Champions League qualification. However, Juventus’ form this season has deteriorated dramatically. After winning their first three league matches, the tide turned: the club drew five games in a row and then lost three straight, including defeats to Real Madrid and Lazio.

Compounding the issue, Juventus failed to score in their last four matches and currently sit eighth in the Serie A table, six points behind leaders Napoli.

The club’s official statement read:

“Juventus Football Club announces that it has today relieved Igor Tudor of his duties as head coach of the men’s first team, along with his staff.”

In the interim, Juventus have appointed reserve team coach Massimo Brambilla as caretaker manager while the search begins for a permanent successor.

Tudor’s departure marks a swift fall from grace: despite earning a contract extension in June on the back of last season’s success, the poor start to 2025-26 proved costly.

As Juventus now look to arrest the slide and rebuild confidence ahead of a challenging stretch of fixtures, the decision underscores the high stakes at one of Italy’s most storied clubs.
