LeBron James is poised to resume practice with the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday, marking his first full-team session since being sidelined with a sciatica issue.

The 40-year-old superstar has been working his way back from the nerve condition, which kept him out of preseason games and delayed his participation in the 2025-26 campaign. Previously assigned to the Lakers’ G League affiliate (South Bay Lakers), James completed several five-on-five sessions there to ramp up his readiness.

L.A. has begun the season strongly, posting a 10-4 record without their longtime leader and relying heavily on contributions from Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves. James’s return is expected to further bolster the team’s championship ambitions.

Head coach JJ Redick commented that James had participated in live five-on-five drills at the G League level and appeared to make good progress without lingering pain. The rebound indicates a green light for Monday’s practice, though an official game return date has not yet been announced.

LeBronis set to make history by becoming the first player in NBA history to play in a 23rd season. His eventual return will reunite one of the most dynamic duos in the league with Dončić, creating new expectations for L.A.’s offensive firepower and playoff potential.
