Liverpool Football Club is reportedly making significant strides toward securing a contract extension with their star forward, Mohamed Salah. Recent developments have led to increased optimism within the club that Salah will continue his tenure at Anfield beyond the current season.

Salah, whose contract is set to expire in June 2025, has been a pivotal figure for Liverpool since his arrival from AS Roma in 2017. This season, he has demonstrated exceptional form, netting 27 goals and providing 17 assists, playing a crucial role in Liverpool’s commanding position at the top of the Premier League.

Negotiations between Liverpool’s sporting director, Richard Hughes, and Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, have reportedly progressed positively. Despite Salah approaching his 33rd birthday in June, discussions have not involved a reduction in his current salary, which exceeds £300,000 per week.

The club’s confidence in retaining Salah comes amid previous interest from the Saudi Pro League, which had offered lucrative terms to the Egyptian international. However, Salah has prioritized continuing his career at the highest level in Europe, aligning with Liverpool’s ambitions.

In addition to Salah, Liverpool is also optimistic about securing a contract extension for captain Virgil van Dijk, whose current deal also concludes this summer. Van Dijk has expressed positive sentiments regarding his future at the club, further bolstering Liverpool’s plans to maintain a stable and competitive squad.

Conversely, Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to depart Anfield upon the expiration of his contract, with a move to Real Madrid reportedly imminent.

As Liverpool aims to secure their 20th top-flight title, the potential contract extensions of key players like Salah and Van Dijk are seen as vital components in sustaining the club’s success in domestic and European competitions.
