Theryn Hallock had a career-high 29 points on 9-of-15 shooting and knocked down all five of her 3-point attempts to lead MSU (20-8, 10-7). Freshman Jaloni Cambridge had a game-high 33 points and senior Ajae Petty had a double-double with 23 points on 11-of-11 shooting and added 15 rebounds and six assists while helping Ohio State (24-4, 13-4) improve to 15-0 at home.
Ohio State went on a 12-4 run during the latter portion of the second quarter while building a double-digit advantage it maintained for a majority of the rest of the night. The Buckeyes led by as much 20 in the early stages of the fourth quarter.
After the Spartans got within seven on a free throw by Hallock with 4:16 to play, Ohio State got back-to-back baskets from McMahon and Cambridge. The only points MSU scored late came on free throws by Jaddan Simmons.
MSU returns to action at 2 p.m. Saturday when it closes the regular season against Minnesota at Breslin Center.
