Ironically, when Morne opened the batting for South Africa in a 2009 Test against Australia after Graeme Smith was injured, he seized the moment and earned the nickname “Haydos.”

Albie carved out a reputation as a T20 specialist, becoming a cult hero for Chennai Super Kings with 92 appearances between 2008 and 2013. Today, he remains embedded in franchise coaching structures, including JSK in South Africa.

“Their love for cricket stems from the exposure we got through our dad being a semi-professional cricket player, school teacher and cricket coach,” Malan added. “It was part of our DNA.”
