Ohio State men’s basketball has been a roller coaster this year. From wins over Purdue and Kentucky to a massive home loss against Northwestern, there have been many highs and lows from this season.
However, per USA Today’s most recent updated bracketology, the Buckeyes are still going to be dancing, although much could depend on how the next few weeks shake out with the Big Ten Tournament mixed with their last two games against Nebraska and then Indiana.
Ohio State is one of ten Big Ten sides that Paul Meyerberg, Erick Smith and Eddie Timanus placed in their field. You can see the full list and who each team would take on in the first round here. The Buckeyes draw the No. 11 seed in the Midwest Region and would battle Louisville in the first round.
That said, the Big Ten has no No. 1 seeds, but there is a No. 2 seed with Michigan State being the second-ranked team in the Buckeyes’ Midwest Region. As for Ohio State’s chances, it boils down to what it can get from its top-four offensive weapons.
Ohio State is 8-3 in games since Dec. 17 when Bruce Thornton, John Mobley Jr., Micah Parrish, and Devin Royal combine for 58+ points.
They are 1-4 when the four combine for less than that.

The Buckeyes were able to get a big road win over the USC Trojans this past Wednesday, and they will have Nebraska at home Tuesday and then Indiana on Saturday prior to the finalized seeding for the upcoming Big Ten Tournament.
