Preview: 2025 Vegas Shoot gets ready to open doors in new home

The Vegas Shoot is the crown jewel of the international indoor season – a pilgrimage destination for archers, amateur and pro, for many decades.

Sometimes known as the ‘Superbowl of archery’, it is usually regarded as the most prestigious indoor title of all, culminating in the famous compound ‘shootdown’ on Sunday night. The reigning men’s and women’s champions are Mathias Fullerton and three-time champion Tanja Gellenthien.

In 2025, the top prize, to the archer who survives the shootdown in the championship compound open category, will be $58,000.

It’s a huge year for the competition, with a change of venue and record numbers expected to attend. The shoot has been held at many venues in the city since its origins in the 1960s, but has been held at the South Point hotel & casino in recent years.

It will now be held right in the heart of the famous Las Vegas Strip at the Paris and Horseshoe casinos, with the showcase finals taking place in the nearby Planet Hollywood resort. All the venues are adjacent to each other, providing more hotel rooms and more space and amenities for attendees.

The event was normally held at the beginning of February, but the move of venues also saw a change to a March date.
