The Vegas Shoot is the crown jewel of the international indoor season – a pilgrimage destination for archers, amateur and pro, for many decades.
As usual, the event will also serve as the final stage for the Indoor Archery World Series, leading up to the tour grand finals on Sunday 9 March, where Brady Ellison, Michelle Kroppen, James Lutz and Elisa Roner will look to defend their crowns from last year.
The 16 top-ranked archers over the indoor season in each category are invited to compete for individual titles. Points towards the elite ranking have been accrued since last October at tournaments in Lausanne, Luxembourg, Taipei, Nimes and Chicago.
The first three days of competition in Vegas count as the sixth leg to set up the 2025 Indoor Archery World Series Finals.
Sometimes known as the ‘Superbowl of archery’, the Vegas Shoot is usually regarded as the most prestigious indoor title of all, culminating in the famous compound ‘shootdown’ on Sunday evening.
It’s a huge year for the competition, with a change of venue and record numbers expected to attend. The shoot has been held at many venues in the city since its origins in the 1960s, and in recent years at the South Point hotel and casino.
It now settles right in the heart of the famous Las Vegas Strip at the Paris and Horseshoe casinos, with the showcase finals taking place in the nearby Planet Hollywood resort. All the venues are adjacent to each other, providing more hotel rooms and more space and amenities for attendees.
The event was normally held at the beginning of February, but the move of venues also saw a change to a March date.
