Real Madrid’s young Brazilian forward, Endrick, has been diagnosed with a hamstring injury, ruling him out of the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in the United States. The club confirmed the injury to the conjoint tendon in his right hamstring, stating that his recovery will be assessed over time.
Endrick sustained the injury during Madrid’s 2-0 victory over Sevilla. Medical evaluations suggest he could be sidelined for approximately two months, causing him to miss not only the Club World Cup but also Brazil’s World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay.
This setback adds to Real Madrid’s growing list of injuries, including key players like Vinícius Júnior, Lucas Vázquez, Dani Carvajal, Éder Militão, Eduardo Camavinga, Antonio Rüdiger, Ferland Mendy, and David Alaba.
Endrick’s absence is particularly impactful as he had recently become a more prominent figure in the squad, especially following injuries to other forwards. He has made 37 appearances this season, scoring seven goals, five of which came in the Copa del Rey.
The timing of the injury is also unfortunate for Endrick’s integration under incoming manager Xabi Alonso. The Club World Cup was anticipated to be an opportunity for the 18-year-old to showcase his talents and solidify his role in the team.
With Endrick unavailable, Real Madrid may need to rely on younger talents from their Castilla squad, such as Gonzalo García and Víctor Muñoz, to fill the void during the Club World Cup.
As Real Madrid prepares for their final LaLiga match against Real Sociedad and the forthcoming Club World Cup, the team faces significant challenges due to the spate of injuries affecting the squad.
