Remembering Diana Taurasi’s 3 WNBA championships, including her 2009 Finals MVP trophy

What a career it was for Diana Taurasi.

In the minds of many, she’s the GOAT. Taurasi spent 20 years with the Phoenix Mercury, earning countless accolades along the way. If becoming the WNBA’s all-time leading scorer and all-time three-pointer leader wasn’t enough, she also was part of three championship teams.

Under Paul Westhead’s guidance, Phoenix beat the Detroit Shock in 2007 in a five-game battle. In 2009, Corey Gaines took the Mercury to the championship game, where they defeated the Indiana Fever. During their championship run, Taurasi earned Finals MVP honors. Finally, in 2014, under Sandy Brondello, Taurasi earned another title after sweeping the Chicago Sky.
