Stephen Curry Stars as Warriors Blow Out Magic to Avenge Earlier Loss

Stephen Curry led the Golden State Warriors to a commanding 120-97 victory over the Orlando Magic on Monday night at the Chase Center, a win that saw the Warriors avenge an earlier defeat to the same opponent this season.

Curry powered the attack with a team-high 26 points, steering Golden State’s offense as the Warriors capitalised on a dominant performance on both ends of the floor. His leadership helped ignite a decisive 19-2 run bridging the third and fourth quarters, turning a close contest into a comfortable margin of victory.

Supporting Curry’s effort, Jimmy Butler III scored 21 points and Moses Moody added 20, while Quinten Post contributed key baskets during the big run that pulled the game firmly out of reach for Orlando. Together, the Warriors shot over 51 % from the field, converting 18 Magic turnovers into 21 points and holding Orlando to its lowest scoring output of the season.

Orlando got solid individual numbers from Paolo Banchero (21 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists) and Desmond Bane (20 points), but the Magic couldn’t sustain their early momentum after falling behind late in the third quarter. The Warriors — whose margin of victory was one of the largest at home this season — never allowed the deficit to shrink below 14 points once they pulled away.

The win also served as retribution for an earlier road loss against the Magic, when Orlando defeated Golden State 121-113 in Florida in November. That defeat marked one of the team’s few stumbles, but the home team’s confident response in San Francisco signalled that the Warriors are regrouping mid-season.

With this victory, Golden State improved its record and demonstrated its depth — blending scoring from stars like Curry with contributions from several complementary players — while maintaining its pursuit of a playoff spot in a competitive Western Conference.
