Phoenix Suns star guard Devin Booker left Monday night’s game against Los Angeles Lakers with a right-groin injury and did not return. He had scored 11 points in just 10 minutes — shooting 4 of 7 from the field — by the time he checked out about two minutes before the end of the first quarter.

At the time, the Suns trailed 27–26. Phoenix then surged without Booker, outscoring L.A. 35–21 in the second quarter to lead 66–52 at halftime.

Despite the early blow, the Suns blew the game open and went on to beat the Lakers 125–108, snapping L.A.’s seven-game winning streak. (

Recent Form & Injury History

  • Before the game, Booker was averaging about 25.7 points per game and 6.9 assists for the season.
  • This isn’t his first groin-related issue in recent Decembers: he missed games in December 2022 (groin injury) and again last December with a similar issue.

What’s Next

At this stage, the exact severity and expected recovery time for Booker’s groin injury remain unclear. Reports say he was ruled out for the rest of the Lakers game, but no official timeline has been given yet for his return.
