Talaysia Cooper carried off the court after injury during Lady Vols vs Georgia

Lady Vols basketball leading scorer Talaysia Cooper went down in the second quarter against Georgia and had to be carried off the court.

Talaysia Cooper did not return to the court with the team out of halftime.

Cooper landed on a Georgia player’s foot and yelled as she went down to the ground. The redshirt sophomore guard grabbed her right ankle and stayed on the ground for at least a minute as staff and players tried to help her get up. Cooper was carried off the court and didn’t put any weight on either leg.

No. 11 Tennessee trailed Georgia 37-22 when Cooper exited the game with 1:34 left in the second quarter. The Lady Vols trailed 39-26 at halftime. Cooper had two points when she left the game.

Cooper has been central to the success of Tennessee (21-7, 8-7 SEC) this season. She’s averaging 17.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 3.1 steals.
