Barcelona extended their unbeaten run in LaLiga with a convincing 3-0 win over Getafe, thanks largely to a brace from Ferran Torres. Dani Olmo also made a strong impact, contributing both a goal and an assist in the match played at Barcelona’s temporary home while renovations continue at their usual ground.

The game got underway in wet conditions, with around 6,000 rain-soaked fans in attendance. Despite the damp and the less intimidating atmosphere than usual, Barcelona were in control from early on.

Torres opened the scoring in the 15th minute. The goal came after a tidy sequence involving Dani Olmo, whose clever back-heel set Torres through. He finished past Getafe goalkeeper David Soria with composure, giving Barça the lead.

Getafe tried to respond but were vulnerable to Barca’s movement and incisive football. Torres struck again in the 34th minute, this time capitalizing on a pass from Raphinha after beating the offside trap, placing the ball just inside the post to double the advantage.

Torres came close to completing a hat-trick before halftime but was thwarted by the crossbar after rounding the keeper.

In the second half, Barcelona maintained control. Marcus Rashford, coming off the bench due to squad rotation, played a part in the third goal. His cross found Olmo, who finished first-time from inside the box in the 63rd minute to seal a comfortable win.

The result leaves Barcelona in second place in LaLiga with 13 points, trailing Real Madrid, who have kept up their perfect start. Getafe, meanwhile, remain mid-table, their defence stretched on several occasions.

There were also concerns for Barça late on when young midfielder Fermín López appeared to pick up an injury, limping off and needing treatment. Head coach Hansi Flick said the club will assess the situation.

In sum, Torres’s performance underlines his current form—four goals in five matches—and showed Barcelona’s depth and attacking threat, even when missing key names. They now look ahead to an away fixture against Real Oviedo, seeking to keep up their momentum.
