Milwaukee’s star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is set to rejoin the team after missing the start of training camp due to a positive COVID-19 test.
Coach Doc Rivers confirmed that Giannis will fly in from Greece Friday night and begin training with the squad Saturday in Miami, ahead of the Bucks’ preseason opener versus the Heat on Monday.
Giannis, 30, had been absent from the team’s earlier activities, including media day, while he isolated abroad. In his most recent season, he averaged over 30 points per game for the third straight year, alongside 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 1.2 blocks.
His return is a positive development for the Bucks, especially as they reshape their roster for 2025–26. The team recently waived Damian Lillard after his Achilles injury and signed Myles Turner to strengthen the frontcourt.
