Saturday’s Transfer Rumors: Chiesa Wants Liverpool Exit as Serie A Giants Circle

by Daniel Adeniyi

Chiesa could be heading towards the Liverpool exit door, with three Serie A clubs reportedly interested in bringing the Italian forward back to his homeland during the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old has struggled to establish himself as a regular at Anfield since joining Liverpool, and reports from Italy suggest he is now ready to consider a move away from the Premier League club.

Inter Milan, Lazio and Atalanta are all reportedly monitoring Chiesa, with Calciomercato claiming that the forward is prepared to leave Liverpool in January. A return to Serie A could therefore become one of the more interesting transfer stories to follow as the winter window approaches.

Liverpool would face a decision over whether to allow the experienced attacker to leave midway through the season, particularly with the club still competing on multiple fronts.

Chiesa Attracts Interest From Three Serie A Clubs

Saturday’s Transfer Rumors: Chiesa Wants Liverpool Exit as Serie A Giants Circle

According to the report from Calciomercato, Inter Milan, Lazio and Atalanta have emerged as potential destinations for Chiesa.

The Italian forward has previously established himself as one of Serie A’s most recognisable attacking players, particularly during his time with Juventus and the Italian national team. His return to Italy would therefore represent a significant development after his move to Liverpool.

Inter’s interest could provide an especially intriguing possibility, given the club’s ambitions and experience in competing at the highest level domestically and in Europe. Lazio and Atalanta are also reportedly considering the situation, giving Chiesa several potential options if he does decide to leave Anfield.

For Liverpool, however, the decision could depend on the player’s role within the squad and the terms of any potential offer.

With the January transfer window still ahead, there is time for the situation to develop before Liverpool and the interested clubs decide whether to make formal moves.

Haaland Reportedly More Likely to Choose Barcelona

Another major transfer story concerns Erling Haaland, with reports suggesting that Barcelona could be a more likely destination for the Manchester City striker than Arsenal if he eventually leaves the Etihad Stadium.

Arsenal are reportedly in a financial position to pursue the Norway international, but Teamtalk claims Barcelona currently represents the more likely option.

Haaland remains one of the most sought-after forwards in world football, meaning any possibility of him leaving Manchester City would generate significant interest.

The report does not indicate that a transfer is imminent, but the possibility of Barcelona emerging as a preferred destination adds another layer to the long-running speculation surrounding the striker.

For Arsenal, the situation could therefore depend on how the market develops and whether Haaland becomes available.

Juventus Continue to Monitor Kayode

Juventus are also reportedly maintaining their interest in Brentford right-back Michael Kayode.

The 22-year-old Italian has attracted attention since moving to the Premier League, and Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juventus remain keen on bringing him back to Italy.

Kayode’s age and nationality could make him an attractive option for Juventus as the club continues to monitor potential additions to its squad.

A move during the January transfer window, however, would depend on Brentford’s willingness to negotiate and the financial terms involved.

Olmo Has No Desire to Leave Barcelona

Barcelona’s Dani Olmo is also involved in the latest transfer speculation, although the situation surrounding the Spain international appears different.

Reports suggest that Olmo does not want to leave Barcelona despite links with Arsenal, Chelsea and clubs from the Saudi Pro League.

The 28-year-old therefore appears focused on remaining at Camp Nou, meaning interest from elsewhere may not automatically lead to a transfer.

His situation demonstrates how transfer speculation can depend not only on clubs’ interest but also on a player’s preference over his future.

Liverpool and Tottenham Watch Mitoma

Liverpool have also reportedly joined Tottenham in monitoring Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma.

The Japan international, 29, is out of contract next summer, making his situation particularly interesting ahead of the January transfer window.

Tottenham are reportedly considering the possibility of bringing Mitoma to north London, while Liverpool are also monitoring his circumstances.

With his contract situation potentially allowing clubs to negotiate from a stronger position, Mitoma could become one of the names to watch as the winter market approaches.

For Liverpool, the interest in Mitoma could become even more significant if Chiesa eventually departs.

Real Madrid and Barcelona Preferred by Mora

Liverpool are also reportedly tracking Mexican attacking midfielder Gilberto Mora, but Football Insider claims the 17-year-old would prefer Real Madrid or Barcelona if he leaves Club Tijuana.

Mora has attracted attention from several European clubs, with Liverpool reportedly among those monitoring his development.

Barcelona are also keeping tabs on Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi, the Italy-born Germany Under-21 international who continues to impress in Belgium.

Meanwhile, former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is reportedly planning to attend City’s Champions League meeting with Paris Saint-Germain on 14 October as a show of support for his former club.

With several major names already generating speculation, the coming weeks could provide an early indication of how busy the January transfer window will become.

For Liverpool, the biggest question may be Chiesa and whether his reported desire to return to Serie A develops into an actual move away from Anfield.
