In a dramatic turnaround, the Houston Texans erased a 19-point deficit and defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 36-29 on Sunday, thanks to a dominant 26-0 run in the fourth quarter.

Backup quarterback Davis Mills, stepping in for the injured starter C.J. Stroud (concussion protocol), completed 27 of 45 passes for 292 yards and threw two touchdown passes. He then sealed the comeback with his own 14-yard rushing score with 30 seconds remaining.

The Texans’ final three possessions covered 196 yards, while Jacksonville managed just 11 yards during that span. Houston out-gained the Jaguars 412-213 overall.

Despite the loss, the Jaguars had bright moments: rookie Parker Washington scored both a receiving touchdown and a 72-yard punt return TD, and quarterback Trevor Lawrence finished with 158 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

With the win, the Texans improved to 4-5 in the standings. The Jaguars dropped to 5-4, having now lost three of their last four games.

For Houston, the result is a blueprint of resilience — turning late-game adversity into triumph. The Jaguars, meanwhile, must ponder how a late-game collapse undid plenty of promising work.
