Stephen Curry scored 28 points and dished out nine assists as the Golden State Warriors triumphed over the New York Knicks 114-102 at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.

This victory brought Golden State’s record to 34-28, while New York fell to 40-21.

Curry, who has a history of performing well in this venue, now boasts a record of 12-1 at MSG. Brandin Podziemski and Jimmy Butler each added 19 points for the Warriors, who improved their record to 3-1 during their five-game road trip

On his 35th birthday, Draymond Green had a noteworthy game with eight points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. The Warriors have achieved victories in 12 of their last 14 contests at Madison Square Garden.

OG Anunoby topped the Knicks’ scoring with 29 points, while Jalen Brunson contributed 25. New York, playing without All-Star center Karl-Anthony Towns for personal reasons, saw its three-game winning streak come to an end.

In Towns’ absence, the Knicks faced challenges offensively, particularly from beyond the arc, converting only 8 out of 33 shots (24%). Mitchell Robinson, making his third start at center since returning from ankle surgery, was limited to just 15 minutes of play.

The Golden State Warriors seized control late in the game, pulling away with an 11-0 run after Curry and Brunson returned to the court with 6:33 left on the clock. The Warriors kept the Knicks from scoring for four minutes, increasing their advantage to 105-93 with 2:39 to go.

Curry tallied 20 of his 28 points in the second half, while Butler contributed 13 points after halftime. Although it was the second game of a back-to-back, Curry displayed no signs of the right ankle discomfort he had experienced in Charlotte on Monday.

Golden State finished with a shooting percentage of 48.9% from the field and outscored New York 35-26 during the third quarter to establish control. Buddy Hield provided 15 points from the bench, and Green’s versatile contributions helped steady the Warriors on both the offensive and defensive ends

The Knicks struggled to generate consistent offense without Towns’ inside presence. Anunoby and Brunson combined for 54 points, but the rest of the team shot just 41.6% from the field. Josh Hart, known for his hustle and rebounding, had just two points on 1-of-8 shooting.
