Pedro Neto has penned a six-year contract extension on improved terms with Chelsea until the summer of 2032. The contract includes the option for a further season.
Since joining from Wolves in August 2024, the Portuguese winger has registered 40 goal involvements across 108 appearances in all competitions.
Pedro Neto has been an integral member of Chelsea’s squad since his arrival and has been a popular figure in the dressing room, trusted by several managers. He has produced many memorable moments in the Blues shirt and won Chelsea’s goal of the season for his unbelievable strike against Fulham in the 2024/2025 season.
Pedro Neto played a starring role in Chelsea’s UEFA Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup triumphs in 2025, scoring three goals as Chelsea romped their way to the inaugural Club World Cup title.
“It’s an unbelievable moment,” said Neto.
“From when I arrived, I have always felt like the people here helped me a lot. I feel at home here; I feel like I want to achieve more things here.”
“I have had some good moments here as a group and as an individual, and now I want to have more of those moments. I’m really excited because I think we can achieve a lot of things together.”
He is up and running this season under new manager Xabi Alonso and has two goals to his name already.
PEDRO NETO: Mr. Versatile
Pedro Neto has been deployed across a series of positions during his time at Chelsea; notably, all across the frontline. He has starred on the right and left flank, as a false nine, as a number ten and as a wing-back. His versatility, consistency, and excellent fitness record have been hugely beneficial.
Xabi Alonso has deployed him in a wing-back role this season and revealed he sees the Portuguese winger as a winger in a statement. He said:
“For me, he is a winger. You can call him a winger or a wing-back because he has many qualities.”
“He can play on the last line, and he can defend on the first line, so he has the capacity to do many things. He is good in one-on-one situations, he is scoring goals, and he has a fantastic work rate.”
“He connects very well with the players around him. I knew him well from watching many of Chelsea’s games.”
“With him, you know that he is going to compete and you want those kinds of players in your team. I am very happy with Pedro and the work he is doing.”
Pedro Neto was a subject of transfer interest in the summer from Manchester City, Al-Hilal and a host of several clubs. However, no move materialised, and he stayed at Stamford Bridge this summer. Chelsea are reviewing first-team contracts to reward deserving players and have decided to reward him with a bigger deal, after João Pedro.
Pedro Neto has now committed his long-term future to the Blues. This extension is a strong declaration of his love for Chelsea and his desire to succeed at the West London club.
