Utah Mammoth forward Logan Cooley suffered a lower-body injury after a knee-on-knee collision with Blues forward Alexey Toropchenko during Saturday night’s 1-0 loss to St. Louis.
The incident occurred at 6:17 of the third period, forcing Cooley to be helped off the ice. Toropchenko was penalized for kneeing and ejected from the game.
Cooley — 21 years old — had logged two shots over about 11 minutes of ice time before the collision. This season he has been a key contributor, tallying 14 goals and 9 assists in 26 games so far.
The Utah , who have struggled on the road lately, now face uncertainty over their young star’s availability as they continue their road trip.
