Real Madrid’s young Brazilian forward Endrick has joined French club Olympique Lyonnais on a loan deal lasting until the end of the 2025-26 season, the two clubs confirmed on Tuesday. The move comes as the 19-year-old seeks more regular first-team football after limited playing time with Real Madrid this season.

Endrick first arrived at Real Madrid from Brazilian side Palmeiras in July 2024, signing a long-term contract amid high expectations. He scored on his debut for Los Blancos but struggled to secure starts under new coach Xabi Alonso, making only sporadic appearances in La Liga and other competitions.

To accelerate his development and gain valuable match experience, Real Madrid agreed to loan him to Lyon until June 30, 2026. The agreement does not include a purchase option, meaning Endrick is expected to return to Spain at the end of the season. Lyon are understood to be covering a portion of his wages during the loan, and both clubs hope regular minutes in Ligue 1 will benefit the teenage forward.

For Lyon — currently competing in **Ligue 1 and European competition — acquiring a talented young striker like Endrick represents a significant boost to their attacking options. The move also reflects their ambition to develop emerging talent while pushing for strong results domestically and abroad.

From Endrick’s perspective, the loan offers a chance to rebuild momentum and showcase his abilities week-in, week-out — something that could also enhance his prospects with the Brazil national team, particularly with the 2026 World Cup on the horizon.

In summary, the loan to Lyon aims to provide the young forward with regular first-team football, helping him grow in experience and confidence before returning to Real Madrid, where competition for places remains intense.
